Mother: Oh, I couldn't get into them.
Me: But you liked the movies so much!
Mother: I loved the movies.
Me: I really think you'd like the books then.
Mother: I don't like reading what everyone else is reading.
Me: Like...Freedom?
Mother: I got Freedom a long time ago. I didn't know anyone reading it then. I don't know anyone reading it now.
Me: I don't understand why you would deliberately not read what other people are reading.
Mother: Well, I wanted to see the movies first.
Me: That's weird. Usually people want to read the books before seeing the movies.
